 Gay porn star Cole Ryder died on July 30. The exact cause of death was unconfirmed as late as Friday, pending an official autopsy. Ryder's passing was mired in controversy as many gay porn blogs and news sites began misreporting the cause of his death. Autopsy results are expected early next week. Before getting into the gay porn business, Cole Ryder worked as a flight attendant and personal trainer. Channel 1 Releasing director director Doug Jeffries discovered Ryder in a Los Angeles gym; and upon introducing him to Chi Chi LaRue, Channel 1 Releasing's owner, LaRue was reported to have signed Ryder to an exclusive contract on the spot. Cole Ryder was cast opposite Johnny Hazzard in Leather Sessions, his first gay porn video.
Ryder went on to appear in such titles as Depraved, Link: The Evolution, Sized Up, Daddy's Boy, When Bears Attack, and Rush.
